Millington, Tennessee - (April. 4, 2022) – When the Midsouth Airshow presented by FedEx returns June 18-19, 2022, it will be joined by the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team. “The F-22 is the fastest and most maneuverable fighter jet in the world” Airshow Director Roy Remington says.
“The F-22 Raptor is the Air Force’s premier fifth generation fighter and is capable of overpowering any adversary it meets”, says Remington. “With its extreme maneuverability and vapor inducing turns, watching the F-22 perform is like adding a whole other airshow to the lineup”.
“The U.S. Air Force has protected America’s freedom for 75 years, and we’re honored to have the Air Force F-22 fly at the Midsouth Airshow in celebration of this diamond anniversary” says Remington.
The F-22 tactical demonstration is a single-ship performance piloted by Maj. Joshua “Cabo” Gunderson from Langley Air Force Base. “It’s an incredible honor to showcase the precision of our airmen for the Memphis area.” said Maj. Gunderson. Highlighting the U.S. Air Force’s STEM initiative, ‘Cabo’ will perform community outreach with the Millington Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol while in town.
“The 164th Air Wing in Memphis will bring a C-17 aircraft to the show for display, and we’re excited the Air Force F-22 demo team will be joining us in celebrating this monumental occasion,” said Remington. Happening during the U.S. Air Force 75th anniversary, the 2022 Midsouth Airshow will also feature U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper, Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker, Air Force KC-10, Air Force KC-46 Pegasus, and Air Force AC-130W gunship aircraft.
